Yanagiya 柳家 1st visit — finally got to try the most highly rated robatayaki restaurant in Japan, and luckily on a snowy day! The setting was definitely magical: an old house in a small mountain village an hour by train from Nagoya. Winter is the best season for game: venison, wild boar, 2 types of duck and a mysterious little bird, all grilled to perfection. The duck soup at the end was warming and hearty, a perfect meal for winter! •
