This legendary ramen shop is located deep in the Kagoshima countryside, hours from any city. The true definition of a destination shop, it’s in the home of master Araki-san, who runs the shop along with his wife. The medium strength soup is made from pork and chicken bones, paired with noodles from Kirishima Seihō. But what makes this shop special is its famed use of almonds. Almond paste and almond oil go into the soup, and each bowl is also topped with crushed almonds. Eating this unique bowl while gazing out across the countryside makes for an unforgettable experience.
