Recommended bowl: Local Tokyo style

The master here, Yamamoto-san, at one time worked alongside the legendary Yamagishi-san of Higashi-Ikebukuro Taishōken. Yamamoto-san runs this shop at night, while his son manages during the day. There are various dishes offered, such as ramen, yakisoba, and teishoku set meals. The 'Tsukesoba Tamagoiri’ comes with an optional raw egg yolk in the soup, perfect for noodle dipping with the springy house-made noodles. Also recommended are the house-made gyoza dumplings. Authentic, old-school Tokyo, virtually unchanged for decades. Part of the Maruchō ramen group, open since 1976.
