Kokumin Shokudo is a good example of a shop that does a lot of things pretty well. The menu is extensive, with shoyu, shiro shoyu, Asahikawa inspired shoyu, miso, and plenty of other types of ramen available. Only eight seats and only open for lunch, from 11am-2:30pm. Master Asahi-san is pretty friendly and is known to go large when he drinks. Originally opened in 2009, but later moved to the current location in 2013.
