Recommended bowl: Black noodles
This family-run restaurant specializes in soba, udon and Japanese teishoku meals, such as grilled local fish and rice. One thing special that they offer is a black ramen dish made with squid ink noodles, which are prepared locally in nishi-izu. The noodles are nice and worth trying, but this isn't a real ramen shop, so the soup tastes like instant ramen. The bowl comes nicely topped with nori seaweed though, and the atmosphere inside is from another era. The shop has been open for over 53 years.
