A wonderful experience at @locandadebanchieri , up in the hills above La Spezia. Chef/owner @giacomo_devoto has created a little oasis up in the hills with stunning views down the valley and on to the sea. Set in beautiful kitchen gardens and olive groves where he picks his menus and even presses his own olive oil, this restaurant with rooms really is worth the journey and I would recommend it to anyone. A tasting menu and also A La Carte menu are complimented perfectly by the wines from his 800 label strong cellar and together with Giacomo’s relaxed and friendly demeanour you really feel like you are dining in his home rather than just another restaurant.
Overlooked when I visited last year by the Michelin guide as so many restaurants these days seem to be, I was surprised to notice the lack of Michelin star but am thrilled to see that they have now been recognised by the guide and given that well deserved star. I can’t wait to revisit soon
