A lovely lunch at Bistro Freddie. Such a nice dining room with every table full and the open kitchen in full swing. Ordered a bunch of things from the menu. Standouts for me were the bavette with peppercorn sauce and the beer battered monkfish with curry sauce. So much depth in the peppercorn sauce and a lovely crust on the beef. Monkfish was ultra crispy and carefully prepared. Delicious curry sauce, spicy and bright, worked beautifully with the crispy fish. Very tasty flatbreads too, with the garlic and Comte being my favourite. Least favourite dish had to be the chicken and wild garlic pie. For me, really underwhelming - a very watery, almost soupy consistency to the filling and it lacked the flavour and unctuousness I think a pie like this needs. Order their comte croquettes too + their sticky toffee for dessert, was great. A lovely new bistro and solid wine list! #notoriousfoodie 🙅🏽‍♂️
