Another favorite spot in Tokyo. Fugu and mochi dashi was an interesting combination. Also loved the grilled shirako with karasumi, and kani miso with nanohana rice. Interesting sake selection as always.•

One of my favourite kappo restaurants in Tokyo. Shrooms season but not quite full blown just yet. Dishes were not quite as inspirational as the previous visit but still excellent. Straightforward, ingredient focused dishes that are execited extremelt well. Also has one of the more interesting sakes on offer at any given time and the Fukuda-san and his wife are always top hosts...

Azabujuban Fukuda 麻布十番ふくだ 2nd visit — amazing autumn flavors with some rare and fun sake pairing, an even more elevated experience than the first time. Highlight was the anago and eggplant dish, both ingredients were extremely tender and soft, melted in my mouth almost like drinking soup. Definitely one of the top kappo restaurants in Tokyo. •

Azabujuban Fukuda 麻布十番ふくだ 1st visit — both cooking and service styles by this husband and wife team are reminiscent of Haguchi, which is traditional, ingredient focused cuisine with profound and balanced flavors, maybe just fewer wow moments compared to Higuchi but still a very solid meal. Really enjoyed the moroko from Biwa lake, a fish with soft and creamy texture that looks like ayu but without the bitterness. •
