I finally visited the long-awaited restaurant "Roka" that I've always wanted to try but never had the chance to.I arrived at 7:40 AM on a weekday and was the fifth in line. Although the registration was scheduled to start at 9:30, they began early at around 8:58, allowing me to reserve a spot for the 11:30 seating.【Order】- Choose 2 types of curry (half rice) JPY 1,200 - Roka Chicken Curry - Lamb Curry - Lu Rou Fan (half rice) JPY 950 - Creamy Vegetable Korma Curry JPY 950 - Choose 2 types of curry JPY 1,300 - Roka Chicken Curry - Chilled Corn Potage Curry The dishes arrived at 11:41.The Roka Chicken Curry was rich in spices, and while the first bite felt surprisingly mild, a subtle spiciness followed, creating a deep flavor profile. The Lamb Curry was packed with diced lamb, allowing me to fully enjoy the unique flavor and richness of the meat. The taste was well-balanced with the spices, without being overly strong. The Lu Rou Fan was a hearty bowl topped with plenty of pork. Unlike typical Lu Rou Fan, the star anise aroma was subtle, making it easy to enjoy even for those who might not like it.I also tried a bite of the "Chilled Corn Potage Curry" ordered by my companion, which was a wonderfully creative dish where the natural sweetness of the corn harmonized beautifully with the spices. It was the last day it was being served, so I was lucky to have made it just in time to taste it, which made for a great memory. Not only was the food delicious, but the owner was very friendly, engaging with us during the meal and as we left, contributing to the warm atmosphere of the restaurant.I truly felt the reason behind the long lines, experiencing both the taste and the service. I look forward to returning for the seasonal limited menu!
