I heard that Nabeno-Ism will be closing at the end of this year, so I visited with a friend, as I had been curious about it.This time, we enjoyed a JPY 22,000 course. From the appetizers, the presentation was incredibly charming, and the flavor combinations were quite innovative, drawing me in from the very first dish. The impact of the olives was particularly strong, and I personally found them to be quite to my liking. The subsequent cold soup was also wonderful, and the soba gaki paired with sweet shrimp and caviar showcased the restaurant's unique creativity. The balance of Japanese elements with a solid French foundation was very impressive.Next, the saffron salad with firefly squid and spear squid was one of the standout dishes of the day. The combination with the aroma of wild garlic was exquisite, and the sensation of flavors layering in my mouth was very enjoyable. The sea bream with grapefruit sauce was refreshing and spring-like, and the duck dish paired beautifully with a sauce that evoked the essence of spring, keeping my interest until the very end.The desserts were all perfectly sized, and even though I was quite full, I surprisingly enjoyed them until the last bite.Overall, every dish was filled with delightful surprises, making it a restaurant that truly enhances the dining experience. The blend of the Japanese atmosphere characteristic of Asakusa with the free-spirited creativity of French cuisine created a unique world.Personally, I really liked this place, so I hope to try the JPY 33,000 course before it closes.
