On a stormy weekday night with thunder rumbling, I visited Sushi Hashimoto. The eight-counter seats were fully occupied by sushi lovers of all genders. It had been a while since my last visit to Hashimoto, and it was a delightful and delicious experience.● Appetizers Edamame, Hiragai (flat shell clam), boiled octopus with salt, Karatsu red sea urchin, steamed hairy crab chawanmushi (savory egg custard) Steamed abalone with liver sauce (served with sushi rice and squid), seaweed-wrapped sardines, Sweet shrimp with karasumi (dried mullet roe), ankou (anglerfish) liver, grilled sweetfish, and grilled bonito.● Sushi and more Kohada (gizzard shad), sea bream, medium fatty tuna from Aomori, hokki clam, red snapper, marinated lean tuna, Otoro (fatty tuna) from the same fish as the medium fatty tuna, horse mackerel, sweet shrimp, and masunosuke (trout). Bafun uni (sea urchin), anago (conger eel), tamagoyaki (Japanese omelet), miso soup, and half a dried gourd roll.● Drinks Nihonbashi Yamada Nishiki (Kyoto, served in a half go) Genzai Premium (Fukushima, served in a half go) Kamonishiki Daiginjo Hashimoto Edition (Niigata, served in a half go) Fuji mineral water.Reliable, safe, and consistent.
