I’ll admit, when I heard that the Michelin Guide was giving a Mexico City taqueria a Michelin star for the first time, I was intrigued and also a little miffed. There are so many deserving taqueros in the world, how is this the one place that got it? It’s obviously a symbolic move that signals a cultural moment for Mexican cuisine. But also, the taqueria did look undeniably great so I couldn’t be too mad about it.

Anyway this noteworthy establishment @califadeleon is having a pop-up at @tacombi right now. So I rushed over to the Westbury location to try it. Damn, this truly is good stuff.
