This past week has been an absolute blowout, but the carnitas tacos were definitely the highlight. On Sunday mornings, this deli taqueria on Horseblock Road in Farmingville cooks up some killer carnitas and lamb barbacoa.

@dontaco_mg is owned by folks from Mexico City and that explains why the huaraches are so good, especially when topped with al pastor from the trompo. The @newsdayfeedme team wants to do a larger article about this fascinating street filled with Mexican and Portuguese restaurants. But for now, I’m enthusiastically recommending this taco joint. The carnitas were juicy, unctuous and some of the best I’ve had … ever.

Make sure to ask for some of that salsa verde on the side. Whoa.
