Nestled deeper into the forest from Hotel Breston Court, a restaurant emerges surrounded by tranquil greenery, making the journey to arrival feel special. From start to finish, it offers a unique dining experience that stands out from typical restaurants. What particularly impressed me was the beginning of the meal. Instead of being seated immediately indoors, we first enjoyed small dishes outside, taking in the fresh air of Karuizawa—savoring delicious bites little by little.Dining in the forest during a summer evening, feeling the sounds of nature and the gentle breeze, was incredibly pleasant and truly showcased the essence of Karuizawa. It was so stylish! The interior also exudes a calm atmosphere, with the greenery outside the windows becoming part of the dining scenery. One dish that particularly caught my eye was the "Vegetable Bouquet." Seasonal vegetables, beautifully arranged like a real bouquet, captivated me the moment it was placed on the table. It was delightful to enjoy the distinct flavors and textures of each vegetable. Then there was the "Eel and Foie Gras Terrine." This luxurious combination of eel and foie gras was rich yet perfectly balanced. It was a dish that made me want to savor it slowly with wine. Even though I opted for a non-alcoholic drink, the mocktail was stylish and delicious too.The main dish, duck, was tender, allowing for a delightful exploration of flavors through the sauce. For dessert, we had seasonal peaches. The juicy sweetness of the peaches combined with the refreshing aroma of tarragon was a perfect ending to the course. Not only the exquisite dishes but also the serene forest scenery, the fresh air, and the leisurely pace of the meal are what make this place special.I felt a sense of luxury that is hard to find in urban restaurants, thanks to the unique charm of Karuizawa.I highly recommend this spot for days when you want to take your time and enjoy a meal. Ah, I am grateful for such a luxurious experience!
