I visited a curry shop located in an underground passage lined with various restaurants.I arrived around 4 PM and completed the registration.Since my reservation was for 7 PM, I killed some time nearby to work up an appetite before returning. This time, I ordered two types of curry: Creamy Vegetable Korma Curry and Roka Chicken Curry, along with Lu Rou Fan (Taiwanese braised pork rice) to share!Although I’m not good with spicy food, I decided to challenge myself with a level 3 spiciness for the chicken curry because I really wanted to try it. To be honest, it might be too spicy for those who are sensitive to heat. I ended up drinking more than four glasses of water to battle the spice! What I want to emphasize is that this curry is worth the struggle against the heat. While the lingering spiciness is undeniable, the moment the curry hits your mouth, the flavors of tomato and chicken, along with the aroma of spices, are incredible. Even though it’s spicy, I found myself wanting to take another bite! The vegetable curry has a gentle flavor that wraps around those who are truly sensitive to spice, thanks to the soybeans and eggplant. The vegetable curry and chicken curry motivated me like a mix of candy and discipline. And lastly, another great ally: Lu Rou Fan. This was my first experience trying Lu Rou Fan, and it was absolutely delicious. Is it really okay for my first taste of Lu Rou Fan to be this good? The meat was tender and had a slight sweetness, making it incredibly satisfying with rice.I was invited to eat curry on a scorching hot day, and I want to scold myself for even thinking negatively about having curry in such heat. It’s precisely on days like this that you crave curry.I’m grateful to Eri, the wonderful owner, for inviting me to enjoy her delicious curry! It was a great meal!
