This ramen shop is said to be the best in Japan. Located in Yugawara, I finally got a chance to make a reservation after much effort! I planned a trip just to eat here. I’ve been to Yugawara a few times before, but this was my first time taking the train instead of driving. I purified myself at the station's hot spring hand bath and headed to the restaurant. The journey had a somewhat desolate charm to it. Upon arriving at the shop, the exterior didn’t look like a famous ramen restaurant at all; it was quite unassuming and not stylish. Honestly, I wondered if this place would be okay based on its appearance. After buying a ticket and waiting for a few minutes, I stepped inside and was shocked! It was truly surprising. The interior resembled a traditional Japanese inn, with a great atmosphere and a sense of luxury, complemented by the chef's warm greeting. The chef, who often appears on TV, personally welcomed us and was busy cooking. He had a neat appearance, adding to the refined ambiance. While I was taken aback by this contrast, I observed the staff working diligently—about six people moving around busily. They were completely divided in their roles, communicating with each other to create each bowl of ramen. There was a careful yet appropriate tension in the air, and everyone was completely focused. What caught my attention was the nori (seaweed). It was kept in a metal box and was added just before serving. This nori was incredibly delicious! The wontons were also prepared right before serving. When the ramen was brought to me, a wonderful aroma wafted through the air. Everything was perfectly condensed into this one tray. Evaluating the taste of the ramen is not something that can be easily expressed. This ramen has a delicate sweetness that clearly sets it apart from others, and I believe it cannot be replicated. It’s a delicious ramen that you truly savor. You will definitely be satisfied!
