Today, I embarked on a double-header adventure to two of Tokyo's top 100 curry restaurants, which are notoriously difficult to visit on weekends! I had no idea this renowned establishment was open for dinner, as I had been checking it for a long time. Fortunately, I discovered their evening hours and planned my double-header accordingly. After enjoying lunch at one of the top 100 spots in Shinjuku, I strolled around Kabukicho until the 4 PM registration began. Arriving a bit early at 3:30 PM, I found that registration had already started, and the only available slot was for the 6:10 PM round. While waiting, I decided to get a massage, which turned out to be perfect timing, but it was a close call. It seems that early registration can happen, so it's best to stay alert. At 6:10 PM, I entered the restaurant. The seating is limited to the counter, but the layout is spacious, so it doesn't feel cramped. I decided to order the Roka Plate, which featured a cold curry made from a limited-edition potage soup. I hadn't had much experience with braised pork rice, but it mixed with the curry on the plate, making it hard to discern its original flavor. The potage soup curry was light and easy to eat, truly a perfect summer curry. I was thrilled to have tasted this legendary curry. It was also memorable to see the owner happily chatting with regular customers. I definitely want to visit again!
