If you love yakiniku, you’ve likely heard of this reservation-only gem, and it certainly lives up to its reputation. Known as one of the top yakiniku restaurants in the country, it’s famous for being difficult to book a table. What surprised me first was the generous portion of each cut of meat. Whether it’s tongue, outside skirt, or short ribs, every piece has a substantial presence, allowing you to savor the joy of a mouthful of meat. The quality is exceptional, with the rich flavor and sweetness of the Wagyu fat spreading with every bite, providing a simple yet overwhelming sense of satisfaction. The large cuts of meat were particularly impressive visually. On the other hand, I found the dipping sauce to be a bit on the lighter side. It seemed to be intentionally subtle to enhance the meat's natural flavors, which might leave those who prefer bolder tastes feeling slightly unsatisfied. However, this allows you to truly appreciate the inherent deliciousness of the meat, which is a hallmark of Kinryusan. This restaurant embodies the essence of enjoying great meat without flashy presentations. Although securing a reservation can be challenging, I highly recommend visiting if you get the chance.
