I visited Yassan, a hidden gem tucked away in a back alley of Gion. It has won a bronze award on Tabelog.I arrived around 6:30 PM on a holiday without a reservation, so I was prepared for a wait, but to my surprise, there was none.I was quickly seated at the counter.Here, you can enjoy exquisite meat dishes in a unique atmosphere that you won't find elsewhere.The owner is friendly and engages in conversation.I let the flow of the meal guide me, and here’s what I had:- Yam Soup- Cucumber- Beef Tongue Sashimi- Heart Sashimi- Lean Beef- Minowaki with Ume Paste- Beef Tongue- Salad- Outside Skirt- Stewed DishThe sashimi, in particular, was outstanding.Although the portions may seem small, they were more than enough to satisfy.Since this was a style of restaurant I don't often visit, it felt fresh and enjoyable.
