I lined up around 5 PM on a weekday and waited about an hour before being seated. The meat was simply delicious; everything we ordered had a clear umami flavor that made me appreciate the quality deeply.I remember the sauce being elegant and refreshing (this was a month ago).Aside from the meat, the side dishes were incredibly tasty. The fried eggplant was unbelievably delicious for some reason. I’ve never been to a kaiseki or kappo restaurant, but this was by far the best eggplant I’ve ever had. Then there was the umeshu (plum wine). It wasn’t sweet at all; it had a concentrated flavor that seemed to extract only the essence of the umeboshi (pickled plum), making it the best I’ve ever tasted.I also ordered a soup to finish off the meal, though I can’t remember if it was Komutan or Yukgaejang. It was very rich and incredibly delicious.Overall, the portions were quite generous, and by the end, I was feeling pretty full! (laughs)
