This was my first time visiting SILVER.I've been curious about it for years, and even though it's relatively close to my home, I always found making a reservation to be a hassle. I think this is the first time I've actually stepped off at the Yotsugi station, even though I've driven past it many times.First, I enjoyed a surprisingly impressive bone senbei (crackers) and boiled liver with condiments and soy sauce. This restaurant has an amazing selection of drinks, but many items were out of stock. I didn't realize there were so many varieties of Junmai Daiginjo sake like Juyondai. The prices are quite high, but I’m fine with something more standard.I tried Bakuren for JPY 1,000, and I really liked it! It’s dry yet fruity, and I’d love to keep a bottle at home. It’s reasonably priced and seems to pair well with anything without getting boring. The unagi (grilled eel) was quite substantial. I think this size is a first for me! When I opened it, I couldn't see the rice at all! The sauce was a bit light, allowing the quality of the ingredients to shine through. If you prefer a stronger flavor, you can request more sauce. The eel was very moist, possibly due to the fat content, and the rice was cooked perfectly, making it delicious. It felt like a perfect balance of eel and rice. The sansho (Japanese pepper) had a nice green aroma, and I liked how the pickles were packed tightly in a small dish, perfect for dipping with sashimi soy sauce.I was surprised to find a vending machine for frozen kabayaki (grilled eel) and shirayaki (grilled eel without sauce) at the restaurant entrance. It might be a good idea to bring some ice packs and buy some as a souvenir!
