I finally visited Dewa Ya, a restaurant specializing in wild vegetable cuisine that I've wanted to go to for a long time.I arrived 15 minutes before opening, making me the 9th group in line (opening time was 11:30).I was seated at 12:30, but it seemed the air conditioning was broken, and since the meals are served in a ryokan-style dining area with only five tables, it took longer than usual to be seated. That was completely expected, though! Honestly, I thought it would be much busier!I ordered the wild vegetable soba set for JPY 2,000 with a large portion of noodles for an additional JPY 200, a large wild vegetable soba for JPY 2,000, and seasonal tempura with matsutake mushrooms for JPY 2,000.Even though the matsutake was small, it was a whole mushroom.Just this matsutake from Mt. Yudono would probably cost JPY 2,000 on its own.As the staff mentioned, it was a great deal!I planned to share the large soba with my kids, but the portion was enormous, and the iron pot was filled with plenty of mushrooms.I was incredibly full and completely satisfied. The tempura was also exceptionally delicious. For this quantity and quality, JPY 6,000 is a fantastic price!I will definitely come back. This is a must-visit restaurant, and I highly recommend it to everyone!
