I was able to make a reservation for 2:00 PM on a weekday, so it was my first visit in a while. However, I mistakenly arrived an hour early at 1:00 PM.The last time I visited, there was an incredibly long line, but since they now operate on a reservation system, there was no wait this time.It was a very hot day, and I looked around for a place to kill some time, but there was nothing in sight. I approached the owner, anticipating that I might be causing inconvenience. After confirming my reservation, I was fortunate enough to be seated early since there was an available table.I was very grateful for that.I purchased a ticket for the Special Soy Sauce Ramen (JPY 2,000) and was guided to one of the six counter seats. At another table, there was a couple from overseas who seemed to be engaged in conversation, but they didn’t seem to be eating much. Before long, my ramen arrived. It came with four types of chashu (braised pork), green onions, menma (bamboo shoots), nori (seaweed), two types of wonton, and a seasoned egg.The thin, straight noodles had a nice bite to them, and I reminisced about how they used to taste. They paired perfectly with the sharp and crisp soy sauce broth. While I didn’t feel the same level of excitement as when I first visited and waited in line, I quickly understood why this place remains so popular. The owner seemed to be managing everything alone, which looked quite challenging. Despite his tough appearance, he provided very attentive service, making for a pleasant experience. However, it felt a bit odd that the overseas couple continued to linger even after I finished my meal, showing no signs of leaving. It must be tough for famous restaurants to deal with situations like this. That said, the food was delicious. It was a great meal.
