I finally visited the highly sought-after yakiniku restaurant, Akasaka Raimon.Without an elevator, I climbed the stairs to the 4th floor, already sweating by the time I arrived. Inside, I battled the heat and smoke, but the deliciousness of the food made it all worthwhile! We started with kimchi, which included eggplant and avocado—so tasty that I could eat it endlessly. The beef tongue was thick, large, and tender, while the liver had no unpleasant odor and was rich in flavor. The sirloin dipped in egg was melt-in-your-mouth delicious, and the Chateaubriand, knuckle main muscle, and hanging tender were surprisingly good. For the finale, we had Morioka cold noodles, which were simply served with noodles and kimchi. They were refreshing, yet the broth was rich and exquisite. This cold noodle dish is also available for purchase, and I’ve enjoyed it at home, where it turned out delicious as well, so I’m eager to try making it again.Lastly, the melon served at the end is always perfectly ripe and delicious, no matter the season. I’m consistently impressed by that.I love Raimon, and I truly believe this is the best place for yakiniku in the world. It’s so popular that my next visit will be quite a while from now, but I’m already looking forward to it!
