At Chez Inno, a grand maison leading the French culinary scene in Kyobashi, you are welcomed into a sophisticated space filled with elegance and depth the moment you open the door. This time, I enjoyed a leisurely lunch course that allowed me to savor the essence of traditional sauce French cuisine. The clientele seemed to be predominantly older guests.● Amuse-Bouche A beautifully refreshing dish presented on a vibrant red and gold plate. On top of a smooth mousse, there is a generous layer of flavorful melon soaked in alcohol, complemented by a rich jelly infused with the essence of prosciutto. The sweetness of the melon, the aroma of the alcohol, and the saltiness of the prosciutto harmonize perfectly, creating a rich flavor that heightens the anticipation for the courses to come.● Appetizer: Lobster Gateau “Côte d'Or” Style One of Chez Inno's specialties. This beautifully layered gateau is packed with succulent lobster meat. The stunning gradient of sauces on the plate enhances the dish, and as you mix each sauce, the sweetness and umami of the lobster are amplified.● Fish Dish: Pan-Seared Kijihata From three enticing fish options, I chose the “Kijihata.” It is served with a special sauce made from a broth concentrated with the flavors of seafood like lobster, presented in a tomato sauce style. The skin is crispy and fragrant, while the flesh is moist and firm, perfectly complemented by the rich yet refreshing tomato-flavored seafood sauce. The texture and sweetness of the accompanying vegetables also create a wonderful harmony.● Meat Dish: Beef Steak with Perigueux Sauce For the main meat dish, I selected this over the roasted lamb (Dijon style). The star of the dish is a high-quality fillet of beef, cooked to perfection, resulting in an astonishingly tender and juicy texture. A generous amount of rich Madeira-based Perigueux sauce, infused with the luxurious aroma of truffles, is poured over it, showcasing the true essence of "Sauce Inno." I was completely overwhelmed by the deep yet refined taste of classic French cuisine.● Dessert & Coffee The final delight was the dessert cart. I was tempted by the array of enticing sweets and indulged in a little bit of everything, including chocolate gateau and grapefruit with coriander. Each dessert was of impeccable quality, pairing wonderfully with the carefully brewed hot coffee. Surrounded by the rich aroma of coffee, the time spent savoring the lingering flavors of dessert was pure bliss.Including the attentive and sophisticated first-class service, it was a wonderful lunch experience where I could enjoy the essence of classic French cuisine with all my senses. I left feeling completely satisfied and full.I would love to visit again on a special occasion. It was a great meal!
