I was introduced to this place by a gourmet friend and made a day trip to Karuizawa just for Yukawatan. I had a wonderfully satisfying experience from start to finish, just as I had hoped. I enjoyed the amuse-bouche at a terrace seat with a pleasant breeze, which really lifted my spirits before moving inside. We shared the eel and foie gras terrine, and I ordered a non-alcoholic pairing that complemented each dish perfectly. Each drink was thoughtfully crafted with herb infusions, making every serving exciting. Next time, I want to try the specialty, the giant sweetfish. (The main dish of duck was transferred to my companion's plate, and there were originally two pieces of meat!) It was a great meal!
