Today, I finally visited "Yoshoku Tsubaki," a restaurant that has won the "Tabelog Award 2026 Bronze" after making a reservation in advance.Nestled at the foot of the mountains, away from the city streets and surrounded by picturesque rural scenery, this charming renovated traditional house is located near the eel restaurant I visited recently, beautifully blending into the surrounding landscape.The parking lot is spacious, accommodating a considerable number of vehicles. There is a gate at the entrance of the premises, which opened at 10:50 AM before the restaurant opened. After passing through the noren (curtain) and taking off my shoes, I was guided to a wonderful table with a view of the garden. With no other guests present yet, I enjoyed the luxury of having the sophisticated space, filled with jazz music, all to myself.The friendly and engaging explanations from the staff tempted me to add more items to my order.**Ordered Menu** Lunch Limited Course "Kaede" (JPY 4,180) Meat Dish: Tsubaki Hamburg Additional Items: - Shrimp Gratin (+JPY 550) - Change rice to curry (+JPY 550) - Non-Alcoholic Beer - Non-Alcoholic White Wine We toasted with the non-alcoholic beer. The course consisted of the following:- Appetizer (Salmon and Sea Bream Salad) - Soup (made with very sweet corn) - Shrimp Gratin (rich and succulent shrimp) - Tsubaki Hamburg & Fresh Salad (a meaty and juicy hamburger. The dressing for the fresh salad is the same as that used by the famous "Tonkatsu Johnny," making it exquisite) - Curry Rice (a luxurious bowl simmered with Matsusaka beef, Kobe beef, and Omi beef) - Custard Pudding & Coffee Every dish was meticulously prepared, offering delicate and remarkable flavors that I thoroughly enjoyed until the very end.With the ambiance, the staff's hospitality, and the exquisite cuisine, it truly was an experience that can only be described as exceptional.
