On this day, I dined at Ginza Ooishi. It's a casual, theater-style counter French restaurant where reservations are easy to make.I had heard that the portions are generous, but I was also impressed by the number of staff members. The atmosphere is lively, almost reminiscent of a ramen shop. The clientele on this day was on the older side, but the contrast between their calmness and the restaurant's energy was quite interesting. Here’s what I had from the omakase course:■ Butter Tea ■ Tuna Tartare with Smoked Caviar Gougère ■ Marinated Sea Urchin and Red Shrimp Consommé Jelly ■ Lobster Flan ■ Baked Rock Oyster with Sea Urchin ■ Hassun (8 types of vegetable jelly, Jambon Persillé, Edamame Soup, and Red Pepper Mousse) ■ Sweetfish Spring Roll with Cucumber Soup ■ Foie Gras with American Cherry Monaka ■ Watermelon Juice with Lime Sorbet ■ Lamb with Flower Zucchini Ratatouille ■ Eel Risotto with Truffle Scrambled Eggs ■ Curry Rice ■ Fruit Soup with Marle Sorbet ■ Mango Shortcake ■ The Premium Malt's ■ Homemade Lemon Squash ■ Uwajima Orange Juice ■ Yuzu Sparkling Juice ■ Green Jasmine Every dish was incredibly delicious. The standout items were the Marinated Sea Urchin and Red Shrimp Consommé Jelly, Lobster Flan, and Baked Rock Oyster with Sea Urchin. Each of these dishes had a rich flavor that allowed me to savor the essence of the ingredients, remaining delightful from the first bite to the last. While the flavors weren't unexpectedly surprising, it was gratifying to eat something that I thought would be delicious, and it truly was.The atmosphere of the restaurant was comfortable, giving off a vibe of a place that serves great food rather than a formal French dining experience. It was a great meal.
