I finally had the chance to visit "Ramen Iida Shoten," renowned as the best ramen shop in Japan, located in Yugawara. Despite my efforts in the fierce reservation battle, I managed to secure just one spot after much struggle. Therefore, I decided to go alone this time, while my friend went to a popular tuna restaurant nearby.Upon entering the restaurant, I was greeted with bright smiles in a beautifully refined space. The warm and attentive hospitality from the owner and staff was truly top-notch. From the moment I sat down, I felt a pleasant tension and anticipation for the ultimate bowl of ramen.Given the precious opportunity, I indulged in both the "Shoyu" and "Shio" ramen, savoring them in that order. The first bowl, the shoyu ramen, arrived with a clear broth that released the rich umami of chicken and the aroma of high-quality soy sauce. Just one sip enveloped me in a profound deliciousness. The homemade noodles, smooth and easy to swallow, paired perfectly with the broth. Next, the shio ramen offered a delicate flavor, with a deep richness from the dashi and a sharp saltiness that harmonized exquisitely, providing a different kind of delight compared to the shoyu.I usually don’t finish the broth for health reasons, but the incredible taste drew me in, and I nearly finished both bowls. After devouring two bowls, I was undeniably full, yet filled with blissful satisfaction. If I ever get the miraculous chance to return, I would love to try the tsukemen and miso ramen next time. This restaurant truly lives up to its name as the best in Japan, both in flavor and service.
