After enjoying Murakami beef shabu-shabu at Edo Sho and a visit to Senami Onsen, I arrived safely at Kappou Shintaku at 7 PM the day after a heavy rain. The counter was filled with locals and visitors, while the tables were occupied by returning international groups. The lively atmosphere of everyone enjoying their meals was delightful as always.I thought to myself, "Kappou Shintaku always attracts people who come to enjoy their food, and the clientele is consistently great." I savored half a go of local malt whiskey from Niigata and a unique local Japanese sake recommended by the owner, starting the course with edamame warabi mochi.Everything in early summer at Kappou Shintaku was delicious. In particular, the rock oyster, Musou Kinen sake, grilled Mahata, and the first encounter with "Yugao's surinagashi hot pot" with wild boar and summer tomatoes were exquisite. The Inada pressed sushi was also outstanding.I enjoyed various food conversations across the counter, relished the delicious rice and accompaniments, and even finished the corn ice cream before settling the bill with my card. A kind neighbor offered a ride back to the hotel for the three of us.
