A 20-minute walk from Katata Station, I visited the award-winning chicken restaurant, Jidoriya Onza, which is recognized as one of the top 100 chicken restaurants.Jidoriya Onza not only serves the Omi jidori chicken produced at its own farm and direct sales store, but also supplies it to renowned yakitori restaurants in Tokyo, such as Torinaga and Yakitori Shira.I heard they offer great value lunch options, so I made a reservation on Tabelog for 12:30 PM on a weekday.Upon entering the restaurant, I was guided to the terrace where a shichirin (charcoal grill) awaited me, creating a barbecue-like atmosphere.I ordered the "Delicious Lunch" for JPY 3,800, which included a variety of surprising chicken parts in the "Omi Jidori Tasting Course" (or for those who are not fond of offal, the "Sauce and Salt Flavor Comparison Course").Before the grilled Omi jidori chicken, appetizers were served, including a delicious tataki (seared meat) that was incredibly flavorful and truly captured my taste buds. When the main dish of grilled chicken arrived, the fresh Omi jidori chicken was beautifully colored, and every piece was outstandingly delicious.I was particularly impressed by the liver, back liver, heart, and chicken thigh. The clay pot rice made with Milky Queen rice was also exceptional, and I finished every last bite.I enjoyed every moment of this meal.1.
