I visited on a Saturday during lunch time. After going to Harukiya, I took a little break at a café. While there, I discovered Tomato, a well-known spot for curry lovers (or so I thought), right near the café. Since there was no line in front of the restaurant, I decided to drop in unexpectedly. The interior reminded me of a coffee shop or Western-style diner, with many jars of spices lined up, which was quite nice! ✨This time, I ordered the Beef Tongue Curry (JPY 3,800). My companion chose the Wagyu Beef Java Curry (JPY 2,900). The Java Curry is spicy, while the Tongue Curry is medium spicy. Since we had plans to visit another place afterward, I requested a smaller portion of rice.After a while, they served a Japanese-style onion achar (?), along with fukujinzuke. The achar (?), with its light yet gentle soy flavor and large pieces of onion, was a perfect match, while the fukujinzuke had a homemade feel with a gentle sweetness and a slightly subdued flavor—both were very delicious.The curry and rice arrived. The rice was topped with cheese and raisins, typical of European-style curry shops. The curry featured a surprisingly thick and impactful slice of beef tongue, which elevated my excitement! ✨ Although they offer a knife, this beef tongue is so tender that it can be easily cut without one. The roux is thick, characteristic of European curry, with a rich aroma from the well-roasted spices and a hint of bitterness that adds to its high-quality, adult flavor! The richness of the European curry, combined with the complex spices and the generous, thick slice of beef tongue, made me incredibly… incredibly happy!･:*+.(( °ω° ))/.:+They also have other menu items like seafood, vegetables, and non-curry options such as beef stew and beef stroganoff, which I would love to try.
