(Visited at 4:45 PM)On this day, I had a business dinner with some esteemed guests, and it was my first time dining here in a while. We reserved a private room for 10 people. The classic and elegant atmosphere set the stage for a delightful presentation before the meal, building my anticipation. We enjoyed the JPY 31,900 dinner course.First up was one of their signatures, Truffle Oeuf à la Cocotte, served with a truffle-flavored chiffon cake. This dish was simply outstanding. The second course featured sautéed lobster with a delectable Americane sauce. This sauce was truly exceptional...The third course was the much-anticipated foie gras, steamed and wrapped in cabbage, prepared without butter or cream, making it light and enjoyable. The fourth course was sole braised in the style of Albert. The deliciousness of the Albert sauce combined with the crispy texture from the braising technique was irresistible. For the main course, I chose the classic, Lamb Pie à la Maria Karas. I absolutely love pie dishes! There was no gamey taste at all, and it was incredibly tender. The generous portion allowed the exquisite flavor of the meat to fill my mouth, perfectly complemented by a superb red wine that someone ordered.Afterward, we indulged in cheese, desserts, and petit fours, and I was definitely full!By the way, the baguette from Kimuraya was incredibly crispy and chewy, and paired with rich, salty butter, I ended up eating five pieces... No wonder I was stuffed! It seemed that all the esteemed guests were very pleased, repeatedly exclaiming how delicious everything was.And indeed, it was truly delicious!Restaurants like Apicius and Ginza Le Can have been beloved by customers for decades in prime locations, and authentic French cuisine at this level is truly remarkable. It’s a classic, a grand slam, with not just the food but also the selection of wines, the ambiance, the service, and the overall value being absolutely flawless. While it’s fun to visit places that offer a fusion of new flavors, opportunities to enjoy French cuisine are rare (and even when available, it’s often not feasible), so perhaps authentic French restaurants that are relatively reasonable resonate the most with me.It was incredibly delicious! It was a great meal!
