Awarded the Tabelog Award 2026 GoldSelected as one of the Top 100 Japanese Restaurants in Tokyo by Tabelog 2025I made a reservation for lunch on the weekend, over two months in advance, with high expectations for this GOLD-rated restaurant. The course was exclusively Omakase, featuring a beautiful array of dishes adorned with hydrangeas, fitting for June. While many fans of this restaurant have shared wonderful comments, I will refrain from going into detail, but I was particularly impressed by:- Fried Abalone- Pea SoupMy sister, who accompanied me, particularly enjoyed:- Foie Gras Monaka- Sweetfish SushiHowever, there were a couple of issues:- The portions were large, and there were multiple suggestions for additional ingredients that came with extra charges.- The presentation of the Hassun was beautiful, but the seasoning on the duck was overly salty, which overshadowed the impact of all the ingredients. This is just my personal opinion. As a man, if I were to bring a charming lady on a date or entertain an important client, I would likely feel pressured to order caviar, crab, or souvenirs, which could be quite daunting.Given the restaurant's fame and the number of apprentices, along with its location in Ginza, I understand that fixed costs are high. However, it seems they might be focusing too much on strategies to increase sales. Since the portions are already generous, I would prefer a reduction in size or the consideration of a smaller course option. I apologize for being a greedy foodie with a small stomach. Please note that my evaluation is focused on cost performance. The service from the chef and staff was absolutely wonderful.Thank you for the meal!
