Curry at Tomato in Ogikubo.This is the ultimate curry that I absolutely love. Tomato in Ogikubo is a must-visit. I make it a point to go whenever I can.This time, I lined up from 3 PM to catch the Saturday dinner service. Of course, I was first in line! After about two hours, we finally got in. I always feel a rush of excitement when entering. Thank you, Yume-chan, for joining me!This time, I chose:Wagyu Beef Java Curry (with cheese and seasonal vegetable toppings)Beef Tongue Curry (with cheese and seasonal vegetable toppings)These are my go-to orders because they never disappoint.Then the curries arrived. The presentation was stunning! It was so beautiful that it could be called a miracle.As usual, I went for the combination style and dug in right away.First up was the Wagyu Beef Java Curry. The umami flavor was incredible. It was spicy but not overwhelmingly so, with a rich depth and a hint of bitterness, complemented by the sweetness of the cheese and vegetables, creating the ultimate harmony. The meat was so tender and absolutely delicious. I thought the cheese might overpower it, but instead, it added a wonderful creaminess to the curry, making it even better.Next was the Beef Tongue Curry. It had one large and one small piece of tongue, both astonishingly tender. And it was just as delicious. Seriously, it was out of this world. The cheese and vegetables paired perfectly with it. Oh, it was so good!Both curries came with vegetable toppings, and they were packed with flavor. The portions are quite generous, so those with smaller appetites should be cautious, but if you have room, the vegetable toppings are a must! Cheese is also a must!The onion achaar and fukujinzuke that come with the curry are incredibly tasty as well. They pair wonderfully with the curry, so be sure to enjoy them!Once again, it was an absolutely amazing experience. Tomato is truly exceptional! I will definitely keep coming back.
