Today, my sister Leilei went to Naruse with our dad.Whenever I couldn't go due to school events or exams, my sister would go with dad to Naruse, and now she has completely fallen in love with the place.Since tomorrow is her birthday, today we celebrated with a birthday eve lunch.Naruse is our favorite tempura restaurant, where we can enjoy dishes made with fresh seafood caught that day and vegetables picked that morning, just enough for the day's use.We started with a corn juice made by grinding only corn and adding just a pinch of salt. The corn juice was said to be very sweet and delicious.I learned that the taste of the corn changes daily, and on rainy days, it becomes milder. For tempura, we had seasonal swordfish and a large horse mackerel that looked almost like mackerel. Both were truly delicious, according to my sister. The vegetables were all wonderful, with the freshly picked small green beans being tender and the corn surprisingly sweet. She happily talked about how delicious the vegetables were. Before finishing, we had a dish featuring natural sea eel raised in the ocean and brackish waters, served with rice cooked in an okudo (traditional Japanese stove). My sister, who loves eel, was impressed by the deliciousness of the sea eel and the freshly cooked rice from the okudo. For the finale, from the options of tempura rice bowl, tempura bara, and tempura chazuke, dad chose the tempura rice bowl while my sister opted for the tempura bara. They even enjoyed blueberry ice cream for dessert, and it seems both dad and my sister left feeling full.Listening to my sister talk makes me crave the tempura from Shimura.I’m really looking forward to my next visit to Naruse!
