After enjoying a special coffee at The Munich café, I decided to have dinner at "Tonkatsu Mange," which has an impressive rating far exceeding 3.9 on Tabelog, since I was in Yao City, Osaka. The restaurant was busy, but since I was alone, I was able to sit at the counter without a reservation. The menu had a wide variety of options, and after some deliberation, I chose the following:Nanshu Kurobuta 160g Set Meal (+ JPY 730) Rice, Miso Soup, Salad, Pickles Fried Water Eggplant with Balzamin Bottle of BeerThe Nanshu Kurobuta is raised on sweet potatoes and sourced directly from a dairy farm in Kagoshima. The lightly pink meat was tender, juicy, and full of flavor without any unpleasant odor, while the fat was sweet and melted in my mouth. It was delicious!I learned that I could have up to three servings of rice and salad, which was great. The salad dressing was exceptional, and the pickles were generously sized—especially the water eggplant pickles, which were delightful. The Fried Water Eggplant with Balzamin was quite substantial; while the fried eggplant itself was excellent, the Balzamin was a bit heavy for just me today. It was a great meal! I’m so glad I made the trip!
