I visited "L'ETERRE" located in Kagurazaka. At first, I was a bit unsure if I was at the right place because the entrance looked quite like a private house (laughs). However, once I went inside and up to the second floor, the atmosphere changed completely. The elegant and calm counter seats spread out before me. This French restaurant allows you to enjoy watching the dishes being prepared right in front of you over the counter. You can see the plating and the moment the sauce is poured, making it a lively experience beyond just eating. The course menu mainly features seafood dishes, except for the main meat course. While French cuisine can sometimes feel heavy, the abundance of fish dishes made it relatively easy to enjoy without getting bored until the end. What impressed me the most was the wide variety of wines available. With a sommelier on hand, it’s great that you can consult and choose wines that pair well with your meal. I highly recommend this place for wine lovers. However, the portion sizes of the courses are quite generous, so I felt quite full by the end. It might be a bit challenging for women or those with smaller appetites (laughs). Make sure to go with an empty stomach! The financier that came out at the end was too much for me to finish, so I took it home.Including the contrast with the entrance, this place has a hidden gem feel typical of Kagurazaka. It’s the perfect French restaurant for a day when you want to leisurely enjoy seafood and wine while watching the dishes being prepared at the counter.
