I finally visited "Sumibi Yakiniku Nakahara," a place I had been curious about for a while. The restaurant has a calm atmosphere, and I started with a draft beer from Ebisu. The fine bubbles and crisp finish heightened my anticipation for the meat feast to come. The first dish was Yukhoe, which was rich in meat flavor. Mixing in the egg yolk added depth, making it a perfect pairing with my drink right from the start.Next came the main meats. The tongue was thick yet surprisingly tender, releasing a burst of flavor with each bite. Grilling it over charcoal added a delightful smokiness, highlighting the quality of the meat in its simplicity. The following meats were equally impressive, showcasing a variety of marbling and allowing me to enjoy the robust flavors of lean cuts without getting bored.Particularly memorable was the thinly sliced meat. A quick sear allowed the fat to melt away, filling my mouth with sweetness. Pairing it with white rice was simply perfect.Towards the end, I enjoyed a thick beef katsu sandwich. The beautiful pink cross-section was exciting. The balance of the crispy bread, tender meat, and sauce was excellent, and when paired with the German dark beer "Weltenburger Kloster Barock Dunkel," the smokiness and richness complemented the meat's flavors beautifully. To finish off, I had a rice dish made with meat and cold noodles. The refreshing taste of the cold noodles after indulging in so much meat was delightful, wrapping up the course nicely.Rather than just serving high-quality meat, the restaurant allowed me to truly appreciate the textures, fats, and flavors of each cut, which was impressive. It was a place where I felt more than just "I had delicious yakiniku"—I left with a satisfying sense of having fully savored the beauty of meat.
