A few weeks ago, I called and was told they were fully booked, but two days ago, I called again on a whim and was lucky to find one counter seat available from 11 AM. When I arrived on time, both the counter and tables were fully occupied. I was asked whether I wanted a sushi-only course or one with appetizers, and seeing the impressive abalone from across the counter, I decided to add the simmered abalone. The appetizer option seemed to come with an additional five types of sashimi. Counter guests received their sushi one piece at a time, while table guests were served on a shared platter. Each piece was beautifully prepared and delicious, but the unagi and cucumber hand roll left a strong impression on me, perhaps because I initially thought it was unconventional. This meal should have cost around JPY 15,000, but when asked if I wanted to add anything, I ended up ordering anago, negitoro hand roll, and purple sea urchin, bringing the total to over JPY 25,000. While the price is high, it truly is a renowned restaurant worth every yen. By the way, I heard they serve three rounds a day.
