Beautifully arranged classic Chinese furniture and decor create a calming atmosphere that makes you forget you are in the city. The establishment exudes a sense of formality while also providing a comfortable and relaxed environment.This time, I enjoyed a course meal that showcased the charms of both Shanghai and Cantonese cuisine, with delicate flavors that highlighted the natural qualities of the ingredients.The assorted appetizers offered a variety of tastes and textures, each dish elegantly crafted to enhance the ingredients' natural flavors. Each item was made with care, raising my expectations for the rest of the course.Next, the two types of Hong Kong-style dim sum were encased in thin wrappers, locking in a wealth of umami. The delicate seasoning allowed the natural deliciousness of the ingredients to shine through.The three types of white treasure thick soup, featuring shark fin, king oyster mushrooms, and white fungus, was a deeply flavorful bowl. Rich yet not heavy, it had a gentle umami that seeped into my body.The signature Peking duck is a must-try dish when visiting this restaurant. The perfectly roasted skin and juicy meat create a wonderful balance with the sweet bean sauce, releasing a rich aroma with every bite.The stir-fried shrimp with shallots was expertly cooked, showcasing a delightful texture. The fragrance of the shallots added an accent, resulting in a light dish that didn’t feel greasy.The stir-fried oil wheat and black abalone mushrooms was a simple dish that highlighted the quality of the ingredients and the chef's skill. The texture and aroma of the vegetables were vibrant, pairing excellently with the umami of the black abalone mushrooms.To finish, I had fried rice with Wagyu beef, fava beans, and Sichuan pickled vegetables. The richness of the Wagyu combined with the flavor of the Sichuan vegetables, while the gentle sweetness of the fava beans added a nice touch. The rice was perfectly fluffy, allowing me to enjoy it until the very last bite without getting bored.The dessert, milk pudding, had a smooth texture and a gentle sweetness from the milk. A subtle hint of almond fragrance spread through, making it a refined dessert that was perfect to conclude the course.Throughout the meal, I was impressed by the delicate flavors that maximized the natural qualities of the ingredients. Rather than overpowering with oil or spices, the dishes carefully brought out the inherent umami of the ingredients, allowing for a pleasant experience until the end.The service was also exceptional, with perfect timing in serving the dishes and excellent hospitality, making for a delightful time.I believe this is one of Tokyo's representative Chinese restaurants that I can confidently recommend for anniversaries, business dinners, or meals with important guests.It was a great meal.
