【What I Ordered】☆ Roka Plate JPY 1,250 (Selected Roka Chicken Curry) ☆ Petit Curry JPY 400 + JPY 50 (Changed to Lamb Curry + JPY 50)【Highlights】 - A complex blend of spices that dances in your mouth - Perfectly balanced heat and richness for the Japanese palate - Despite being a famous restaurant, the service and explanations from the female owner were very attentive - Comfortable seating with a spacious counter for 6【Concerns】 - Reservation only (registration) system, starting at 9:30 AM for lunch and 4:00 PM for dinner, but registration began earlier than expected - The location is hard to find (B1 of a brick building)【Additional Info】 - Complete turnover system every hour (40-50 minute intervals) - Cash only for payment - Open Monday to Thursday☆━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━☆Due to the reservation-only system, I had been unable to visit this renowned curry restaurant, Roka, for a long time.I heard they have dinner service on Tuesdays and Thursdays, so I took a break on Thursday afternoon to ensure I could register for the less crowded evening service! ( ✧Д✧)シャーAfter a 2-minute walk from JR Okubo Station, I found Roka's location in the basement of a brick building, despite getting a bit lost!I arrived 2 minutes before the 4:00 PM registration started, and to my surprise, the registration table was already set up!! (⊙ө⊙) And it was already filled out! ≡≡≡_(┐「ε:)_ What’s going on?!There are 6 slots for registration, matching the number of counter seats, set for 40-minute intervals.- Write your full name in Katakana in the available slots - A representative can register for the entire group These are the rules. There were 3 slots available for 5:30 PM and 1 slot for 7:00 PM, so I registered my full name for 5:30 PM!!My long-time dream is finally coming true…( ̄^ ̄゜) It seems safer to arrive earlier than the official registration time.I spent about 1 hour and 20 minutes cooling down with a drink at a nearby burger joint on Kotakibashi Street, waiting for my time.☆━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━☆When I returned 5 minutes before my scheduled time, the famous blonde owner, Eri Saito (nicknamed: Eri-tin), came out to check attendance♪They called names in order from the top of the list, and we were seated at the counter from the back to the front.Once everyone was seated, Eri went into the kitchen and introduced the recommended curries and limited-time offerings before taking orders one by one.Despite being a well-known figure, her explanations were very thorough, which honestly surprised me!I ordered: - Roka Plate with Chicken Curry - Petit Curry with Lamb CurryAs I sipped my water, I noticed a subtle lemon aroma.Real lemon was in the pot! Such thoughtful details are delightful (*´∀`)Now, the curries started to arrive one by one, approximately every 3 minutes.☆━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━☆Finally, mine has arrived!! (*≧▽≦)On one plate, there was Roka Chicken Curry, Ruo Rou Fan (braised pork rice), onion achaar, mustard oil takana, bean sprout achaar, salad, and a boiled egg all piled high!"Please mix everything together at the end and enjoy!" Taking a bite of the Roka Chicken Curry, I was blown away! The spiciness hit my tongue like an electric shock, and I started to sweat a little (; 'ᵕ' )Then, amidst the rough texture, the rich aroma and depth of spices spread, and I couldn’t help but nod in approval (
