Established in 1980, Unagi Uomasa is a renowned eel specialty restaurant representing Tokyo. The tradition has been preserved since its founding, with a commitment to pursuing the true value of each eel.On this occasion, my friend made a reservation, and we enjoyed the unaju (grilled eel over rice). After arriving at the restaurant, it took about 30 minutes to prepare the eel before we could eat. While waiting, we were served crispy bone crackers and tea. It seems there are many types of alcohol available, so those who drink might enjoy a drink during the wait. The eel was crispy and fragrant on the outside, while tender and fluffy on the inside. The secret sauce soaked in, filling my mouth with the sweetness of the fat and umami flavor. The liver soup was also exceptional, with a rich broth. The portion was quite generous! It was truly a satisfying unaju experience. The warm atmosphere typical of a downtown gem was also delightful.Although it’s a bit of a distance, the deliciousness makes me want to visit again if I have the chance. It was a great meal!
