In July, I visited Onjaku for the first time with my son.We started with the usual:○ Horse Mackerel Cucumber Roll topped with Ume Paste.Lately, my son has been eating less, so he’s no longer classified as a big eater and is served a more reasonable portion.○ Jindou Squid with Mizuna and Grain Mustard.This dish makes you crave Japanese sake! But today, I’m the designated driver.○ Pike Conger with Sansho Oil and Morokheiya.Delicious pike conger with a hint of sweetness!○ White Sweetfish with Shiitake, Yuzu, and Soup.The broth is light, but the flavor of the sweetfish is concentrated, enhancing the overall taste! So delicious!○ Green Eggplant Tempura.This was a surprise! The crispy batter and the melt-in-your-mouth texture of the eggplant were exquisite!○ Grilled Eel Wrap.This wrap reminded me of Peking Duck. Rolled up and grilled, I couldn’t help but exclaim, "What a twist!"○ Zucchini.Also melt-in-your-mouth delicious! The thickness provided a wonderful texture variation.○ Red Snapper with Burnt Soy Sauce.* Palate Cleanser: Korin-ki with Sesame.○ Freshly Cooked Rice with New Ginger.○ Ribbonfish with Orikake, Okra, and Grated Daikon.○ Pike Conger Rice.○ Flower Snapper Rice.○ Chilled Sesame Dashi Chazuke.○ Roasted Onion Pickled in Soy Sauce.When I asked if there was something to put on my plain rice during my second helping, this was the answer! It was delicious!○ Peach with Black Tea Jelly and Hibiscus Aroma.○ Zunda Jade Rice Cake.Throughout the meal, my son kept exclaiming how good everything was, and I had to remind him several times to be quiet (laughs).When we were leaving, I apologized to the chef for the noise and jokingly said, "Don’t worry, I won’t bring him again, feel free to ban us!" He just laughed (⌒-⌒; )Later, I received a message saying he was happy to meet my son, who is the same age as his. I was surprised to find out they were the same age!
