【2026 Silver】【2024 Top 100 Restaurants】This place, located just outside Yotsugi Station on the Keisei Line, probably offers the most consistently delicious unagi don in Tokyo. Since it’s reservation only, I made a booking through TableCheck before visiting "Unagi Uomasa"; my rating is 4.25.Every time I come to Yotsugi Station, I struggle to find my way, but I arrived via the direct Asakusa Line from Oshiage on a local Keisei train.Upon arriving at the station, I noticed a mural of "Captain Tsubasa"—could this be a sign of victory in the World Cup?There’s nothing else around this restaurant, so if you arrive early, there’s nowhere to kill time. After wandering around a bit and returning to the station, I was surprised to run into a friend celebrating their birthday.◇ Special Large Unagi Jyu + Drink + Liver Soup; JPY 12,000When making a reservation, you can choose between wild or farmed brand unagi, but the wild option costs over JPY 30,000.I opted for the farmed brand unagi, which is known for its consistently tender texture.I arrived early, but it seems they start cooking from the time you arrive, taking about 45 minutes.◆ Oolong Tea; JPY 400- Bone crackers, unagi liver with wasabi soy sauce◇ Liver Soup◇ Pickles◇ Special Large Unagi Jyu◎The impact when opening the jyu is immense! The unagi completely covers the rice, making it invisible. The large unagi is beautifully arranged on top of a generous portion of rice, which is about 15mm thick. The firm texture of the rice contrasts nicely with the fluffy unagi, which is the familiar Kanto-style.The amount of unagi sauce is just right—not too much, not too little—seasoned with a slightly stronger soy flavor than what you’d find around Chiba.A good unagi restaurant also pays attention to the quality of sansho pepper. The balance of sweetness, spiciness, and mild heat creates a unique harmony with the unagi.
