I made a reservation for 5 PM during Golden Week and visited the restaurant. I was seated at a table, and although it felt a bit chilly inside due to the cool weather outside, I was warm while enjoying the soft-shelled turtle dishes. The shoji screens are thin, so it can get a bit noisy if there are loud guests next door, but every dish was simply delicious. While the appearance of soft-shelled turtle might seem grotesque, everything from the soup, meat, collagen, and internal parts to the zosui (rice soup) and dessert was truly delightful. The bottled beer wasn’t very cold, and I personally found the beer glass lacking, which made it less enjoyable. However, the Japanese sake was excellent. I heard that one should not remove the scorched rice, so I hesitated to finish the last of the zosui, but it was so delicious that I wanted to scoop up every last bit.
