I had a craving for delicious dim sum, so I visited the renowned restaurant in Azabu-Juban that I had saved for a while. I arrived without a reservation and only had to wait for about 2-3 minutes before being shown to a semi-private room in the back, where I could enjoy my meal in a calm atmosphere. This time, I ordered the dim sum course and chose the "Chrysanthemum and Pu-erh tea". I heard it helps cleanse the palate, so I went for it without hesitation. They provided hot water for refills, allowing me to savor the fragrant tea until the end. The appetizers included an assorted platter of three items: century egg tofu, steamed chicken with Sichuan sauce, and cold Chinese vegetables. Each had a different texture and flavor, raising my expectations from the very start. The five types of dim sum were all served hot, including shrimp spring rolls, char siu pastries, vegetable steamed dumplings, shrimp siu mai, and mushroom and corn dumplings. Each was carefully seasoned, with chewy skins and juicy fillings that highlighted the freshness of the ingredients. The main dish, stir-fried pork with ginger sauce, had a perfect balance of sweet and spicy flavors, complemented by the aromatic ginger. The daily special fried rice with olives and shallots was fluffy, with the crispy fried shallots adding a delightful touch to the taste. The pickled mustard greens were surprisingly delicious, offering a refined flavor with a satisfying crunch and crispness. For dessert, the "Shuan Pi Nai" (milk pudding) was among the smoothest I have ever tasted. The rich milk flavor paired beautifully with the oolong tea caramel sauce, bringing a smile to my face with its deliciousness. Additionally, I enjoyed a caramel-flavored mooncake and lychee chocolate, leaving me completely satisfied until the end. The staff provided attentive service, explaining the dishes clearly, which made for a very pleasant experience. It's no wonder this dim sum lunch is popular among women. I look forward to returning to try the Peking duck next time. It was a great meal!
