I was invited to a private gathering at Kataori. When I asked the taxi concierge at the Nikko Kanazawa Hotel to take me to Kataori at 11:30, they said they were already on their way, so I decided to go with that. This meant I arrived 15 minutes early. It was too hot to walk along the riverbank, so I waited in the shade, enjoying the view of the river. The water sprinkled by the apprentice dried up quickly, and in the summer heat, we were a group gathered from around the world.Everyone except me were food enthusiasts who traveled the globe tasting various cuisines. The warm smile of the owner made everyone feel at ease.First, to heighten our senses, we were given hot towels for our necks. It was incredibly relaxing. The theme for the day was Urabon (Obon Festival). The course was beautifully arranged. The dashi (broth) was truly exceptional, and I enjoyed it with all my senses for the first time in a while. The aroma of the tea leaves being roasted by the owner was wonderful and remained delightful until the end.If summer is this amazing, I can only imagine how wonderful the other seasons must be.I definitely want to come back.**Urabon Theme**- Tokoroten with vinegar from Amakusa in Himi- Water Droplet Okra Soup A summer specialty soup from Kataori.
