I was disappointed that I couldn't reserve a counter seat, but it was wonderful to have a spacious, luxurious sunken kotatsu room for just the two of us! I was able to have a great conversation with the chef in the private room, which was the highlight of the evening. At the start, they freshly ground sesame seeds for us, filling the room with a delightful aroma. Each dish was a feast for the eyes as well as the palate. The young staff member who attended to us provided excellent explanations about the dishes. I ordered pairings of Japanese sake for each course, and it was simply outstanding!
