In Kanto, there are many renowned eel restaurants. One of them is "Unagi Uomasa," located just a minute's walk from Yotsugi Station on the Keisei Oshiage Line. Founded in 1979, it is a long-established eel restaurant representing Tokyo, known for being reservation-only and quite difficult to book. Here, the owner, Mr. Suzuki, carefully prepares selected Japanese brand eels and natural eels, grilling them slowly over Kishu Binchotan charcoal after they are cut to order. The interior features a calm atmosphere with natural wood, offering table seats, sofa seats, and private rooms adorned with autographed photos of famous personalities. Tonight, I visited the restaurant with friends and enjoyed the owner's special eel course.【Unagi Uomasa's Eel Course】◆ Appetizer ◆ Kurikara-yaki ◆ Grilled Tenderloin, Grilled Head, Grilled Liver ◆ Uzaku ◆ Bone Senbei ◆ Unaju with Brand Eel ◆ Pickles ◆ Liver Soup ◆ Seasonal Fruits ◆ Drinks ☆ Beer ☆ Japanese Sake ◉ The Kurikara-yaki, where eel fillets are wrapped around skewers and grilled to a fragrant finish, is plump and thick, seasoned with homemade liver salt, making it a perfect match with fine sake. The Unaju, grilled with a secret sauce, has a crispy skin and tender, fluffy meat, presenting a relatively light yet exquisite dish. It was a great meal. I will definitely return.
